Automotive Manufacturing Company of Ethiopia (AMCE) is a Joint Venture between IVECO group (70%) and the Ethiopian Government founded in 1970 (30%). Back in 1930, FIAT introduced in Ethiopia the first truck model in history, with the 621 model and then 634 model, which gained visibility in the country. This success led FIAT to open an assembly plant in Addis Ababa with the authorization and collaboration of the Ethiopian Government from this time. AMCE is not only an assembly plant. Already some parts are being manufactured in-plant as well as in other ancillary industries in the country

Challenges

AMCE had been using Accpac software to manage its finance in inventory services. Systems were disconnected and they were struggling with their reporting, which was complex and took time. Plus, they were looking for a solution that could manage ongoing changes as their requirements evolved.
Envisioning a high-performance automotive company, AMCE’s strategic leadership provided direction towards replacing its legacy system and implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, for the growth and success of the company.

They took AMCE live with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system, to increase the company’s performance and productivity and seamlessly integrate their business functions. Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP included customizable, configurable, sophisticated financial accounting, sales & service, supply-chain, project, manufacturing, resources management capabilities, and flexible reporting features.
